What information do we collect about you and how do we use it?
Types of Information We Collect
Personal information means information that can be used to identify and contact you. You need to submit personal information to access the Site and the Service.
We collect personal information when you create an account through the Service; participate in feedback forms, questionnaires or contests; fill out registration forms; purchase a product through the Service or receive customer or technical support.
To create an account for the Service, we require you to provide certain information to create your account, including a screen name, username, password, email address and phone number. We also may collect information regarding your company, office name or contact persons information. Providing additional information beyond what is required to create an account is entirely optional, but enables you to gain more from the Service. When you are purchasing products through the Service, you will also be required to provide your name, shipping address, billing address and credit card or other payment information. No information of this type will be collected unless you have registered for services that require it.
How We Use Your Personal Information
The personal information you provide to us will allow us to fulfill your product or service order; alert you of new products or services, features, or enhancements; handle your customer service questions or issues; request feedback; and notify you of contests, promotions, updates, surveys or special offers that we think may interest you. We also use your email address and phone number as part of the Service in sending you messages about the Service and other general announcements.
We keep track of your interactions with us, including but not limited to your activity within the Service. We may use personal information that you provide to us to send messages to you in response to your request to perform an activity in connection with your use of any of the Service. We may also use your personal information to contact you when necessary.
We may use your personal information with non-personal information that we have collected in a manner such that the end-product does not personally identify you or any other user of the Service. We may make your personal information non-personally identifiable by either combining it with information about other users (aggregating your personal information with information about other users), or by removing characteristics (such as your name or email address) that make the information personally identifiable. This process is known as de-personalizing your information. You grant us a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable and fully transferable right and license to use your personal information in connection with the creation and development of analytical and statistical analysis tools relating to the use of the customer data we collect in providing the Service (the “Analytical Data”). We are expressly authorized to make any commercial use of the Analytical Data, including without limitation, sharing the Analytical Data with third parties, provided that we do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer from us any part of the Analytical Data that personally identifies any Service users.
“Cookies” are small bits of electronic information that a website sends to a visitor’s browser and are stored on the visitor’s hard drive. Like many websites, we employ cookies in certain areas of the Site to allow us to provide information to make your online experience more convenient and gather analytical data through clickstreams. For example, when you return to the Site after logging in, cookies provide information to the Site so that the Site will remember who you are on subsequent visits, speeding up or enhancing your experience of the Service by, for instance, tailoring content to you. Cookies also prevent items placed in a shopping basket from disappearing by the time you checkout. You still may access the Service if you choose to disable cookies through your internet privacy settings.
Our servers automatically record information that your browser sends whenever you visit the Site. This information includes, but is not limited to, your Internet Protocol address, your browser type and version, device type, physical location, the search engine you used to find the Service, if any, which Service you use and when and how long you use them. We use this information to monitor and analyze how users use the Service, to troubleshoot issues and provide customer service, and to maintain and improve the Service.
Google Analytics, WordPress Stats
Orthosciences uses Google Analytics and WordPress Stats to help us learn about who visits the Site and what pages are being viewed.
Do Not Track
At this time, the platform we use to host the Site does not respond to “do not track” signals across all of their services, which may include our Site. However, you may choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies before using the Site, understanding that certain features of the Service may not function properly.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or allow them to create an account for the Service. We take children’s privacy seriously, and encourage parents to play an active role in their children’s online experience at all times.
Will we share your personal information with third parties?
Sharing of Information
- Asset transfers. If we become involved in a merger, acquisition or other transaction involving the sale of some or all of Orthosciences’ assets, user information, including personal information collected from you through your use of the Service, could be included in the transferred assets. Should such an event occur, we will use reasonable means to notify you through email and/or a prominent notice on the Site.
Additional Information You Should Know About Third Parties
What choices do you have about the collection and use of your personal information?
California’s “Shine the Light” law (Cal. Civ. Code Sections 1798.80, et seq.) provides California residents with the right to receive certain disclosures when personal information that has been collected online is shared with third parties for direct marketing purposes.
If you are a California resident and you provided personal information to the Site in the past, and/or if you do so in the future, you are entitled to submit a request in writing to Orthosciences for a description of the information we may have provided to third parties. To submit your written request, please email us at email@example.com and let us know that you are making a California Privacy Request.
Within 30 days after receipt of your request, we will send you a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of the third parties who actually received such information, if any.
We reserve our right not to respond to requests sent more than once in a calendar year. Please note that the California “Shine the Light” law does not cover all categories of information that may be collected and disclosed or shared, and our policy relates only to information covered by the law.
Control of Your Information
You may update or delete your personal information or modify your account preferences for the Service by accessing the account interface of the Site or emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that when you delete your account, we may retain your account information for a reasonable period of time afterward for the purpose of internal account management and fraud prevention activities. We also retain your order history to address the unlikely event there is an issue with product safety in the future.
Opting Out of Receiving Communications from Us
If you no longer want to receive our newsletter, emails or other announcements, you may unsubscribe by selecting “unsubscribe” in your account, writing to us at email@example.com or replying to the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails. Please note that you cannot unsubscribe from certain correspondence from us, including messages relating to your account transactions.
What security measures do we take to safeguard your personal information?
The personal information that you provide to us is stored on servers, which are located in secured facilities with restricted access, and protected by protocols and procedures designed to ensure the security of such information. In addition, we restrict access to personal information to Orthosciences employees, independent contractors and agents who need to know this information in order to develop, operate and maintain the Service. All Orthosciences personnel who have access to this information are trained in the maintenance and security of such information. However, no server, computer or communications network or system, or data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect user information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or through the use of any of the Service and you acknowledge and agree that you provide such information and engage in such transmissions at your own risk. Once we receive a transmission from you, we will endeavor to maintain its security on our systems.
